Server
Solara server rules
These rules apply while playing on the Solara RP FiveM server. Read them alongside the general community rules and any category-specific documents (e.g. gangs & orgs).
TL;DR
We are an RP first server. Have fun. Help new people. Respect others.
Roleplay First
Solara RP is a roleplay-focused server. Roleplay ALWAYS comes first. All actions, decisions, and interactions should prioritize creating immersive and believable roleplay experiences for everyone involved.
Players are expected to remain in character at all times while in-game, unless they are using designated out-of-character (OOC) systems or channels. Breaking character, intentionally disrupting roleplay, or prioritizing game mechanics over storytelling is not permitted. Using the skybox for any conversation that is not directly related to roleplay is also considered going OOC.
Roleplay should be approached with the goal of creating engaging and realistic scenarios, not simply “winning” interactions or gaining advantages. Players should allow situations to develop naturally and avoid forcing outcomes that negatively impact the roleplay experience of others.
If a situation does not go in your favor, you are expected to continue the roleplay rather than avoid or disrupt it. Good roleplay involves cooperation between players to create enjoyable and believable scenarios.
Failure to prioritize roleplay or intentionally disrupting roleplay environments may result in administrative action.
Voice & Communication Rules
Players must have a working microphone. Players must use voice communication while in-game. Microphones should be clear and used in a way that supports roleplay and does not disrupt others.
Excessive yelling, intentionally loud or distorted microphones, soundboards, music spam, or any audio meant to disrupt or annoy other players is not allowed.
Do not talk over others during roleplay scenes. Allow conversations and interactions to occur naturally so all participants have the opportunity to engage in the scenario.
All roleplay interactions must remain respectful. While conflict and hostility may occur in character, players may not use roleplay as an excuse for harassment, discrimination, or personal attacks toward others. Keep interactions focused on the scenario and avoid behavior intended to make other players uncomfortable or targeted outside the roleplay context.
Radio Rules
Civilian and Emergency Services radios (LEO, DOT, EMS, etc.) are water-resistant, meaning radios may be used while in water. Radios may not be used while fully submerged or actively swimming, though. Once you resurface and are treading water or exit the water, radio use is permitted again.
Explicit Conduct and Offensive Roleplay
Explicit sexual roleplay, sexually graphic conduct, or highly inappropriate scenarios are not permitted on the server. Roleplay should remain appropriate for a general community environment. ZERO tolerance for any kind of sexual assault or harassment.
Roleplay intended solely to harass, target, or degrade other players through offensive themes or behavior is not allowed. Players may not use roleplay as a justification for abusive or discriminatory conduct.
Suicide and Self-Harm Roleplay
Roleplay involving suicide or intentional self-harm is strictly prohibited. This includes scenarios that depict, encourage, glorify, or simulate self-harm in any form. Players should avoid creating situations centered around these themes.
No Metagaming
Metagaming is strictly prohibited. Metagaming occurs when a player uses information obtained outside of in-character roleplay to influence in-game decisions or actions.
Players may only act on information their character has realistically learned through roleplay. Information gained through Discord, streams, other players, or any external source may not be used in character.
This includes “stream sniping”, using livestreams, broadcasts, or any external viewing method to gain information about another player’s location, actions, or situation is not allowed. Stream sniping provides an unfair advantage and undermines fair roleplay.
No Powergaming
Powergaming is not allowed. Powergaming occurs when a player forces actions onto another player without giving them a reasonable opportunity to respond through roleplay. All roleplay interactions must allow other participants a fair chance to react and participate in the situation.
Players may not perform unrealistic actions, ignore reasonable limitations, or force outcomes that remove another player’s ability to engage in the roleplay scenario.
Initiation Rules
Players must provide a clear roleplay initiation before engaging in hostile actions against another player. Initiation must give the other party a reasonable opportunity to understand the situation and respond appropriately.
Hostile actions such as kidnapping, robbery, assault, or violence must be supported by a clear roleplay context and communication before escalation.
No FailRP / No Unrealistic Roleplay
FailRP occurs when a player acts in a way that breaks immersion or ignores realistic behavior within the roleplay environment. This includes but is not limited to:
- Refusing or failing to participate in active roleplay
- Performing unrealistic actions to gain an advantage
- Misusing commands to bypass or disrupt RP
- Arguing about rule violations during a scene instead of reporting afterward
- Improper use of OOC chat
- Not using available features designed to support immersive roleplay
Expectations
Players are expected to behave in a way that reflects how a reasonable person would act in the situation. Actions that are unrealistic, intentionally immersion-breaking, or that ignore obvious consequences are not permitted.
No Random Deathmatch (RDM) / No Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM)
Random Deathmatch (RDM) is the act of killing or attacking another player without proper roleplay initiation or a valid roleplay reason.
Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM) is the use of a vehicle to intentionally harm or kill players without proper roleplay context.
Both actions are strictly prohibited and undermine fair roleplay.
Downed, Death, and New Life Rules
There are two possible phases after being downed. Each has its own restrictions. It is up to the player to determine which is applicable.
Phase 1 - Downed
In this phase, you are considered conscious but heavily injured (ex., you fell from a height just high enough that you broke your legs, maybe you got hit by a car and can’t walk, etc.). Anything more severe, you are immediately considered phase 2. In this state, you are said to be semi-alert and may speak in-game and remember general events that led to you being downed.
Phase 2 - Unconscious
In this phase, you are considered, for all intents and purposes, dead. You are not allowed to speak or have any interactions of any kind. You must forget everything from the past 30 minutes that led up to your dying. This includes how you died, who killed you, and who you were with, and any information you learned.
Once EMS interacts with you, you may follow their lead. The memory loss must be maintained.
Any player found abusing this will be dealt with harshly. If there is any uncertainty as to which phase you are in, assume the worst.
New Life
If/when your character is killed and respawns, you must forget the events that directly led to your death. You may not return to the immediate area of the previous situation or attempt to continue the same conflict (this is true even for gang-related fights; if killed, you have to sit the rest of the fight out, sorry kiddo, git gud).
Your character should treat the situation as a new life and may not use knowledge from the previous scenario after respawning.
Perma-death / Death Penalty / Comas
Perma-death (aka morgued) will permanently end a character’s story. Comas will render the character inactive while in a coma. This is not to be used lightly. All perma-deaths and comas require an RP ticket. This ticket must be reviewed and approved by staff. Medical personnel must be involved (if applicable). Comas require a set duration. To exit a coma, an RP ticket is required. Fake or unapproved perma-deaths/comas are strictly prohibited and will result in a ban. Any player who has a character morgued and creates a new character may not remember anything from the dead character’s life.
Combat Logging
Logging out or force-respawning to avoid roleplay is strictly prohibited. If you must log out during an active RP scene, you must receive agreement from all parties involved.
This applies to:
- Police chases
- Medical scenes
- Criminal situations
Additional Rules
- After committing a crime, you must wait 15 minutes before logging out
- If your game crashes, log back in as soon as possible and explain
- If you cannot return within 5 minutes, create a ticket explaining what happened and who was involved
If you know you do not have time to finish a scene, do not start it.
FearRP / Value of Life
Players must value their character’s life and act accordingly in dangerous situations. When faced with a clear threat such as weapons, overwhelming numbers, or other life-threatening circumstances, players are expected to roleplay fear and comply realistically.
Escaping is allowed at your own risk, unless otherwise stated.
If you are told not to touch your radio or phone, you must comply or face the consequences.
Ignoring obvious threats, acting recklessly while under immediate danger, or behaving in a way that shows no regard for your character’s safety is not allowed.
Scene Interference / Third-Partying
Players may not interfere with an active roleplay situation they were not originally involved in unless there is a clear and realistic roleplay reason to do so.
Third-partying—joining an ongoing conflict, fight, or crime scene without proper context or involvement—is not allowed and disrupts ongoing roleplay scenarios.
Vigilantism, while not encouraged, is not explicitly against the rules.
Gang / Organization Rules
Players involved in gangs or organizations must operate within the rules of the server and maintain realistic roleplay standards.
Organizations may not use excessive numbers to overwhelm situations without a reasonable roleplay buildup. All criminal activity involving groups should follow proper initiation and escalation rules.
Staff may set limits on the size, activities, or structure of gangs and organizations to maintain fair gameplay.
Please see the other document for in-depth gang rules.
Vehicle Usage Rules
Vehicles must be used in a realistic manner that respects physics, vehicle limits, and common sense. Intentionally using vehicles in ways that are unrealistic or that disrupt roleplay is not allowed.
Examples include (but are not limited to):
- Reckless driving with no roleplay context
- Abusing vehicle mechanics
- Using vehicles in ways that would not reasonably occur in a real-life scenario
- Launching vehicles off cliffs and continuing without RPing damage
- Driving after major collisions without RPing impact
- Ignoring vehicle damage because it is not visually shown
- Taking non-off-road vehicles into unrealistic terrain
- Using motorcycles to perform impossible maneuvers
Enforcement
Failure to follow realistic driving standards will result in disciplinary action.
Hostage Rules
In the interest of safe passage, characters looking to commit crimes are allowed to take hostages. Those individuals may not:
- Take their friends as hostages
- Pretend to be hostages
- Rob the hostage
Details
Ransom may be demanded, and the hostage may be exchanged for that ransom. Hostages may not be taken away from the scene after a robbery. Law enforcement will take action to prevent this. Negotiations may take place through radio or phone.
There is no strict limit on the number of hostages, but you must be able to realistically control and manage them. Fear RP applies. If you can escape and want to risk it, you may.
Kidnapping Rules
Kidnapping must have a clear roleplay reason and may not be done randomly or repeatedly against the same players. Ex: Kidnapping a rival gang leader, a police officer during a crime, a high-value target that wronged you in the past, etc.
Kidnapping scenarios should focus on creating meaningful roleplay rather than simply restraining or removing players from the game. Excessive or abusive kidnapping behavior is not permitted.
There must be at least four (4) police present on the server to kidnap a civilian, eight (8) if kidnapping a public figure or service worker.
Torture RP
Torture RP is allowed, but it must be done reasonably. The victim must be allowed to continue roleplay afterward and retain full functionality of all body parts. Permanent deformities may be kept only if the victim chooses. Sexual acts are strictly prohibited.
Robbery Rules
When robbing another player, you may only take items that are currently in their on-hand inventory. Robbers must wear a backpack or bag to roleplay, where stolen items are stored.
You may not force bank transfers, vehicle sales, steal from vehicle inventories, or steal from player-owned homes. If a player is downed, they may be robbed. However, a character may not intentionally down a player solely to rob them – valid roleplay reasoning must exist.
Gang members may not antagonize player-owned businesses unless the business initiates the roleplay. Gang members do not need to initiate roleplay if they observe an individual selling drugs in their territory.
Player-owned stores, hospitals, and police departments may be robbed; however, there must be a two-to-one ratio of police to robbers. Ex: 3 people robbing a hospital means that at least 6 police are online.
Character Naming Rules
Character names must be realistic and appropriate for the roleplay environment. Joke names, celebrity names, offensive names, or names intended to disrupt immersion are not allowed.
Staff may require players to change character names that do not meet these standards.
Character Separation (No Mixing Characters)
All characters owned by a player must remain completely separate and may never know or interact with one another across any server. This includes (but is not limited to):
- Transferring money, items, or assets between characters
- Using third parties to move assets between your characters
- Sharing or implying knowledge between characters
- NO “COUSINS”
Expectations
Players with multiple characters must keep each character’s knowledge, relationships, and experiences completely separate.
Information learned on one character may not be used by another character under any circumstances.
Plastic Surgery
Plastic surgery is allowed in a limited way. You can fully remake your character's look within seven (7) days of creation. After that, only minor changes may be made. Examples of major changes are:
- Changing skin tone
- Major changes to bone structure
- Changing what your parents looked like to alter your looks
- Changes to height
Changes That Are Always Allowed
- Small changes in weight
- Changes to eye color (you're using contacts now)
- Minor adjustments to the nose, lips, or cheeks
It is NEVER ok to use plastic surgery to avoid the police or anyone else. Be smart about it and do not abuse it. If caught abusing the plastic surgery, your character may be deleted.
Copycat RP
Players may not intentionally copy another player’s established character, identity, or storyline in a way that causes confusion or disrupts their roleplay. You will be required to delete the character. No reimbursements will be provided; continued behavior may result in further disciplinary action.
Characters should be unique and contribute original roleplay to the community.
Police Interactions Rules
Players must cooperate with law enforcement and respond realistically during police interactions. While evading or resisting may occur in roleplay, actions must remain believable and comply with server rules on escalation and initiation.
Players may not intentionally stall, bait, or disrupt police roleplay through unrealistic behavior or rule abuse.
Police / SWAT Equipment
The following items are restricted to LEOs:
- Flashbangs
- Gas grenades
- Smoke grenades
- Beanbag shotguns
- Mobile fingerprint scanners
- LIDAR
- Tasers
- Stormram (this is the only item that may result in a ban if used improperly)
- Police MDT
- Snake camera
- Heavy armor
- Riot helmets
- Riot/Police shields
Civilian Use
Civilians are not allowed to possess or use any of the above equipment. It is not a bannable offense, but the police are allowed to take action immediately.
Police Mistreatment & Appeals
Do not police the police during a scene. If you believe an officer mistreated you, handle it in character. Speak to a supervisor, file a formal complaint through the proper channels, or find an attorney and sue them.
Admins should be contacted only if an officer is clearly violating a server rule.
Bodycams / Dashcams / CCTV
The assumption of having a body camera by default is restricted to law enforcement. Civilians are able to find, purchase, or steal body cams in city.
Civilians without a body cam may only record if their phone is visibly out and actively being used with proper /me RP. If you are inside a running vehicle, a dashcam can be assumed to record the front and rear only.
Civilian recordings may not be used for:
- Retaliation RP
- Memory recall
- Metagaming
Evidence & Reports
Simply having a screen-recorded video (like OBS or Medal) or a video from a live stream will not count as admissible evidence for any in-game lawsuits. You must properly RP the scene. If you had a body cam or were recording on your phone, the evidence is admissible.
With that being said, regardless of the RP, if you have recorded videos of someone abusing the rules, please open a ticket in Discord and provide the video. We wish to keep the server fun, fair, and engaging. We will need your help to keep it that way. Any rule-breaking will not be tolerated.
EMS & Medical Roleplay Rules
EMS and medical roleplay must be respected by all players. Once you are revived, you are under medical custody until EMS clears you. Players should allow EMS personnel to perform their roleplay without interference.
Injuries should be roleplayed realistically. You must roleplay your injuries for at least 10 minutes after being discharged. You cannot immediately return to full physical ability or seek revenge.
EMS Equipment
The following items are restricted to EMS personnel:
- Surgical kit
- Leg Brace
- Neck Brace
- Arm Brace
- Body Brace
- Defibbrillator
- Painkillers
- Adrenaline Syringe
- Medical Bag
- Body Bag
Civilian Use
Civilians are not allowed to possess or use any of the above equipment. It is not a bannable offesnse but the police are allowed to take action immediately.
Property & Safe Zone Rules
Certain areas may be designated as safe zones or protected properties. You may not initiate violence, sell drugs, rob, kidnap, or take players hostage, or start criminal activity in these locations. Running into a safe zone to escape an active crime is considered FailRP.
Safe Zones include:
- City Hall
- The Casino
- Hospitals
- Police Departments
- Stores
Continuation & Loitering
If roleplay begins outside a safe zone and naturally continues into one, it may continue as long as it remains realistic. Loitering in a safe zone removes its protection.
Camping in Illicit Areas
Intentionally camping, waiting, or patrolling high-traffic areas that lead to illicit locations for the purpose of robbing players is strictly not allowed and can lead to a ban.
Illicit areas include (but are not limited to):
- Drug component collection locations
- Drug processing locations
- Money laundering spots
Exceptions
- If RP naturally escalates in these locations, protections may be revoked
- Gang-exclusive processing locations are exempt and allow gang-on-gang interactions
Law Enforcement
- Officers may not excessively patrol these areas just to stop or arrest players
- Surveillance is allowed only if it supports an existing investigation
Impersonating / False Flag Operations
DON’T DO IT…Wearing department-issued clothing or logos without being employed by that department is prohibited (this includes PD, EMS, DOJ, etc.). Players who intentionally impersonate gangs or groups to frame them for crimes may be subject to perma-death.
We won’t ban you for it, but we may look the other way if the police catch you…Or if the rival gang wants to get you morgued…
Server Economy Abuse
Players may not exploit the server economy through duplication, unintended mechanics, coordinated abuse, or other methods that artificially generate money or resources.
All economic activity should occur through normal gameplay and roleplay. Violations may result in asset removal and disciplinary action.
AFK / Money Farming
Players may not remain AFK for longer than 15 minutes.
If you need to be away longer, you must log out and return when ready to play. If you are currently on duty with a whitelisted job, disciplinary actions may be taken.
Staff Interaction & Reporting Rules
Staff decisions must be respected. If an issue occurs, players should report it through the proper channels rather than escalating the situation in-game.
Do not argue with staff during active situations. Concerns or disputes should be handled through the appropriate Discord ticket appeal processes. The staff who implemented the disciplinary action will not be the same staff to handle your appeal.
No VPNs or Spoofing
The use of VPNs, IP masking services, hardware ID spoofers, or any tools intended to conceal or alter your identity while connecting to the server is not permitted.
These tools may be used to bypass bans, evade enforcement actions, or disrupt server moderation. Any player found using VPNs, spoofers, or similar methods to avoid identification or accountability may be removed from the server and face further disciplinary action.
Ban Evasion / Alternate Accounts
Attempting to bypass a ban by using alternate accounts or other methods is strictly prohibited and will result in further disciplinary action.
All accounts used by a player are subject to the same enforcement actions.
No Exploiting or Cheating
Knowingly abusing server scripts or GTA V mechanics, the use of cheats, hacks, exploits, or any unauthorized software (including crosshair software) that provides an unfair advantage is strictly prohibited.
Players must not intentionally abuse bugs, glitches, or unintended mechanics. Any discovered exploits should be reported to staff immediately.
Server Restart Rules
After a server restart, a minimum of 20 minutes must pass before any crimes can begin. This allows players time to load in and prepare. All crimes must also stop at least 10 minutes before a scheduled restart so scenes can be properly wrapped up.
Additional restart rules:
- Hostage scenes and bank robberies must begin at least 30 minutes before the restart
- If an unscheduled restart occurs, all players involved must return to the scene afterward and finish the RP
Rule Enforcement Disclaimer
Not all rule violations are treated equally. Some violations may result in in-game consequences, and some consequences may be out-of-game. It can range from warnings or lesser disciplinary action, while others may be considered serious offenses that can lead to immediate suspension or permanent bans.
Staff will use their best judgment when reviewing situations and determining appropriate enforcement actions based on the severity, intent, and circumstances of the violation.
These rules are subject to change at any time as the server evolves. It is the responsibility of all players to stay informed of the current rules and expectations within the Solara RP community.
